“It was such a magical day…”
Nine years and four bubs later, Kim & Andrew were finally able to have the Adelaide Barossa wedding they’d always wanted…
Sydney to Adelaide
I was first contacted by Kimbaley’s sister, who works as a Sydney wedding photographer. Kim really wanted her sister to be her wedding photographer, but with possible travel restrictions, they decided to have a backup plan in place. They wanted to find a second photographer from Adelaide in case Deb couldn’t make it. Fortunately everything went to plan, and I got to shoot along another amazing wedding photographer!
My day started up at the boy’s house. Being completely honest, it was a bit chaotic! There were 8 guys to be dressed (including 2 little ones), all in FULL KILTS! Other than Andrew’s Dad, no-one really knew how to put a kilt on. I found it quite entertaining and it made for some great photos.
Next we headed to the ceremony at the beautiful St. Patrick’s Church. The bagpipes were belting on our arrival which made everything feel very patriotic! It was a simple Catholic ceremony with all their closest family and friends. Once they were wed, Kim & Andrew walked down the aisle hand-in-hand to the iconic bagpipe tune, Scotland the Brave.
From the Scottish Highlands to South Australia
After the ceremony we went to the beautiful Morialta Conservation Park. Andrew wanted some of their wedding photos to feel like the Scottish Highlands. This was to honour his heritage and the family who couldn’t make it over. We got an overcast day and there had been lots of recent rainfall, so the greenery was lush. Scotland had come to Adelaide!
Our last stop was the stunning Lambert Estate Wines in the Barossa Valley. We pulled up the driveway as the clouds broke open. After a super cloudy day, it was just in time for us to get some beautiful sunset shots. The rest of the evening was filled with incredibly heartfelt speeches and killer moves on the D-floor.
Congratulations Kim & Andrew.
