ADELAIDE HILLS WEDDING | GREENHILL WINES CELLAR DOOR
A beautiful Adelaide Hills Wedding set in front of an old stone cottage – turned cellar door – in Summertown.
“From the moment I met you I thought you were kind, funny, a little silly and just about the same kind of nutter that might be able to love a soul like mine”
Robert and Fiona are locals to the Adelaide Hills, and so they settled on their beautiful rustic wedding venue – Greenhill Wines Cellar Door. The winery owners, Penny and Paul Henschke (fifth generation of the Eden Valley Henschke wine family), have created a home away from home. Stepping inside the cellar door, you are greeted by the cutest winery dog – Piero – as well as a warm open fire place, delicious homegrown wine and handmade gourmet food. It was almost summertime, and so the vines were lush and green. It was perfect for a winery wedding.
“You listen, you love, you allow me the space to be me. The most precious gift you could offer”
They hosted an intimate gathering with close friends and family. They said their vows under the white wooden arbor decorated in purple and white flowers, framed by the grape vines. Robert text me in the morning letting me know that the ceremony was being moved due to high winds. Instead of having their ceremony in the original spot overlooking the vines, they opted to use the cellar door as shelter, making for a lovely stone wall backdrop. Nothing like a last minute weather change on your wedding day. They took the gusty weather in their stride, and we still managed to get some great photos.
“With you I share a deep love, a proper love, a love and a companionship like no other”
Robert & Fiona are one of the most down-to-earth couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Their love for each other is very evident. They wanted a no frills, no fuss kind of day, going for a natural and rustic Adelaide Hills winery wedding. The day was filled with so much love and laughter that I went home feeling all warm and fuzzy!! These two were totally smitten.
